I’m on vacation for the next two weeks. I’m visiting friends and getting fit for the next months. I’m already looking forward to great meals and conversation!
The shop will remain open, though. Any order placed between the 5th and 23th of August will be shipped on the 25th.
I wish you a great Summer!

This has been a really busy week. Lots of visitors came to the shop through Design*Sponge and I’ve been ironing, pleating and sewing every day. All the orders are shipped now, flying to their new homes.

I’m tired but happy with my Etsy experience, I see the last month’s efforts are giving nice results.
Some people have the ability to keep their workspace clean. They know exactly where everything is without having to search for it. I’m not one of them. I’ve always had a tendency to mess everything up.
M says I have a tendency to ‘expand myself’ while working. I conquer territory beyond my own table and fill his and the rest of the room with scraps, paper rolls, fabric, cardboard, tools, boxes, folders and paint I need to have around because, well, you never know when you’ll need them.
But there always comes a time when there’s no space even to work.
So several months ago, I decided to take seriously the issue of organization. I needed a quiet and tidy work space, a space to think and a way to have everything accessible when needed.
Experience has taught me that when I work, I use three basic groups of tools: cutting, gluing and sewing. I made a small inventory and classified them in transparent boxes, so I can quickly see what’s inside.
Cutting tools:
Gluing:
For sewing, I have a box for needles, scissors and other tools and one for thread and buttons that I don’t use so often.
I’ve found out that having a pencil in each box can be really useful. Pencils – especially small ones – tend to disappear mysteriously.
You may think all this is quite silly, but for someone like me it’s a big achievement. For the first time I don’t have to go rummaging through papers looking for ‘that glue stick I left on the shelf but I can’t find now…’
