Last weekend I could finally enjoy the first issue of *Bespoke*, a limited-edition australian magazine published by Jessica van Den, a really inspiring person. Jess makes beautiful jewellery (EpehriellDesigns) and is the editor of Crafting a Business, a blog focused on small businesses, the Handmade movement, online marketing, etc.
This year, Jess decided to go further and publish a magazine made by the handmade community for the handmade community: *Bespoke*, which is full of great gift ideas, interesting interviews, beautiful designs and how-to’s.

A little handmade publication, designed with care and love and beautifully printed. My copy (number 59 of 500) was perfect for a rainy afternoon.
Inside the new wrapping…

Olelé’s new fan case, made to measure in soft leather.

I designed the custom die and sent it to a small factory in Ubrique (in Cádiz, famous for its fine leather goods). The cases are already at the studio. I love the colours – grey, cream and light teal -, so easy to combine with the fans! What do you think?
Today I had a special guest at the studio: Jon Torner, journalist, who is writing an article for the Basque-speaking weekly Argia. Jon and I chatted about selling handmade online, Etsy and other venues, the crafts movement and Olelé.
Jon’s article won’t be published until December, but I am already looking forward to reading it. Being interviewed at home is an important event!
I finally got the Moo mini cards for the new Olelé packaging! I love Moo, such a smooth paper and great printing quality!

Along with my order I received a 15% discount code for any first Moo order.
If you’d like to try any of Moo’s products for the first time, just leave a comment below and I’ll send the code to you by email.
♥ P.S. I’m not earning any commission – just love my Moo cards and I think you will too. : )
It’s been a little while since I last blogged, it feels like so much has happened! Over the past 2 weeks I have been putting the finishing touch to a website and I haven’t had time to create (well, to create fans. Coding demands loads of creativity too…). I am happy to announce the launch of a new website:
Una fiesta para Boris / A party for Boris / Ein fest für Boris
This project goes beyond the staging of Thomas Bernhardt’s play, giving the audience and amateur actors the chance to get closer to a delicate subject: how amputees are perceived and treated by society, and how helping can be misread sometimes. There has been so much work to do, but now I am happy with the result and I hope the website gives the project enough visibility. Good luck!
I found lots of beautiful japanese cottons in Nunoya, another of my favourite shops in Barcelona. M and I only had a couple of days in august to visit the city where we used to live years ago, but it was enough to stock up with supplies for the next months. (I could also order online and avoid a five-hour journey, but, you know, feeling the fabric is essential when buying… )

♥ Nunoya – Carrer de la Palla, 6. 08002 Barcelona (Spain) I’ve spent these last days sewing and ironing, to have a new batch of patchwork fans ready in the shop. It took a bit longer to make these fans, in order to have the hems sewn and pressed properly, but I love the unique final result. What do you think?
More hand fans lined with japanese cotton in the shop.
PS. Some friends and other Etsy users missed pictures showing how my fans should be held, so I’ve included a model in the item descriptions’ pictures. Guess who the model is?
After two weeks in Berlin and Barcelona, it’s time to get organized. So many experiences and memories… and so much fabric found here and there!

I’m on vacation for the next two weeks. I’m visiting friends and getting fit for the next months. I’m already looking forward to great meals and conversation! The shop will remain open, though. Any order placed between the 5th and 23th of August will be shipped on the 25th. I wish you a great Summer!
